A joint effort has been initiated by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China and the China Banking Regulatory Committee to revive the nation's student loan programme.
By fixing credit terms the new move will re-energize the student loan programme, which was seriously strained in recent years by repayment defaults.
Almost five years after the programme was introduced to help poor youth realize their college dream, it was reported that a number of student borrowers failed to abide by their repayment agreement.
That fact made domestic banks shy away from such a programme, even though it was of far-reaching importance to the country's higher education cause.
While the banks are justified to reduce their confidence in student borrowers, the bank credit terms were indeed too rigid for students.
The majority of today's college students have to apply for loans to cover tuition fees and living expenses which they cannot otherwise afford.
Though half of the interest on student loans is paid out of the national budget, the previous four-year repayment term still constituted a heavy burden on most student borrowers.
The country's tight job market has darkened college graduates' employment prospects. It is estimated that some 2.8 million students, an increase of nearly one third, will graduate from colleges this year.
By extending the term of repayment to six years and requiring colleges to set up loan compensation funds, the new credit policy will allow college graduates to establish a credit rating within their financial capacity while enhancing educational institutions' role in overseeing repayments.
To transform themselves into ingenious commercial banks, domestic banks must caution against any repayment default.
But unlike problematic consumer loans for the purchase of housing or cars which domestic banks compete with each other to grant, student loans represent assets of social significance rather than commercial benefit.
The pressing task for domestic banks is not to wince at temporary losses. Instead, they should overcome existing problems to expand the programme as quickly as possible.

Billion Win is a HK business, engaged in casting & machining all aspects of hardware parts and component, such as machinery parts, automobile and bicycle parts, metal crafts, valve, fasteners, handtool and power tool. The production process including making metal tooling and mould, wax injection, making creamic mold, precision casting, machining, heat treatment, surface treatment and so on.My experience is as below:
1.worked as the company director's assistant, helped the director do some Lacoste Polo Shirts.
2.In May 2003 I was appointed as shenzhen sales representative,explore new Lacoste POLO Shirts.
3.in April 2005 moved to gangzhou as the regional sales representative,in charging of handling the advertising/marketing job, exploring Ralph Lauren Polo shirts.
4.in Sep 2006 I was transferred back to the factory headquarter, did the after-sales service job, mainly maintained the customers' relation, carried out the customers' new projects and handled the customers' complaints
5. In Mar 2007 I quit my job and left Billion Win.

Priest Valentine relates his story

Let me introduce myself. My name is Valentine. I lived in Rome during the third century. That was long, long ago! At that time, Rome was ruled by an emperor named Claudius. I didn't like Emperor Claudius, and I wasn't the only one! A lot of people shared my feelings.
Claudius wanted to have a big army. He expected men to volunteer to join. Many men just did not want to fight in wars. They did not want to leave their wives and families. As you might have guessed, not many men signed up . This made Claudius furious. So what happened? He had a crazy idea. He thought that if men were not married, they would not mind joining the army. So Claudius decided not to allow any more marriages. Young people thought his new law was cruel. I thought it was preposterous ! I certainly wasn't going to support that law!
Did I mention that I was a priest? One of my favorite activities was to marry couples. Even after Emperor Claudius passed his law, I kept on performing marriage ceremonies -- secretly, of course. It was really quite exciting. Imagine a small candlelit room with only the bride and groom and myself. We would whisper the words of the ceremony, listening all the while for the steps of soldiers.
One night, we did hear footsteps. It was scary! Thank goodness the couple I was marrying escaped in time. I was caught. (Not quite as light on my feet as I used to be, I guess.) I was thrown in jail and told that my punishment was death.
I tried to stay cheerful. And do you know what? Wonderful things happened. Many young people came to the jail to visit me. They threw flowers and notes up to my window. They wanted me to know that they, too, believed in love.
One of these young people was the daughter of the prison guard. Her father allowed her to visit me in the cell. Sometimes we would sit and talk for hours. She helped me to keep my spirits up . She agreed that I did the right thing by ignoring the Emperor and going ahead with the secret marriages. On the day I was to die, I left my friend a little note thanking her for her friendship and loyalty. I signed it, "Love from your Valentine."
I believe that note started the custom of exchanging love messages on Valentine's Day. It was written on the day I died, February 14, 269 A.D. Now, every year on this day, people remember. But most importantly, they think about love and friendship. And when they think of Emperor Claudius, they remember how he tried to stand in the way of love, and they laugh -- because they know that love can't be beaten!

His Present Peace

A peace the world does not afford, is granted to us by The Lord, Peace which one cannot explain, given in the power of His Name, The Lord and Savior from above, provides this peace I speak of, An abundant peace to all of us, who in Christ, have put their trust.The peace afforded all by Grace, sustains us in the darkest place, Even through the darkest night, peace from God becomes a light.And in the light of God’s Word, His Peace to us isn’t just inferred, God’s Peace to us is guaranteed, for Christ Himself, has decreed.God’s Peace, is offered to all of us, from the lips of Christ Jesus, While in this world of tribulation, we have peace through Salvation, When our trials, by men are ignored, we draw hope from The Lord, Who, while darkness does increase, with His Light gives us peace.Earthly things are often priced, but, not the Peace of Jesus Christ, As its true worth is immeasurable, all provided by The Father’s will, Provided by Him, absolutely free, to all believers, like you and me, Transcending all we understand, while guided by our Father’s hand.Christ’s Peace isn’t of this world; this is the victory we must herald, For with His Peace there is hope, and His strength to help us cope, When our trials seem not so right, to point all men to Christ’s Light, As we live in the world’s uncertainty, with hearts at home in Eternity.
